Neuberger Berman Senior Operations Product Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

Summary:

The Neuberger Berman Operations Team is responsible for all aspects of operational support associated with our high net worth and institutional asset management teams. Responsibilities would include oversight of the set-up, maintenance, and exception monitoring of security master across all products and ensuring data quality in the trading and accounting platforms across the firm. We are looking for an experienced candidate to support the ongoing implementation and evolution of our enterprise data platform. The candidate should be able to perform the necessary facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the development of master and reference data solutions for equities, fixed income, and derivatives. Responsible for working with both functional and technical personnel to translate business requirements, assist with the creation of functional specifications, provide master and reference data management expertise into the design process, help create solution test cases and testing plans, and create and maintain related documentation. This role can lead to a management opportunity for an individual who displays leadership and team-building characteristics as the role progresses.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for set up, maintenance and review of securities in trading and accounting systems, leverage subject matter expertise in these areas.

  • Day to day manager of the security control function across systems and products across all locations.

  • Face off with business and technology delivery managers as a subject matter expert around security master.

  • Translate business needs into reference data solutions utilizing process and data flow techniques.

  • Instrumental in setting up Service Level Agreements with business partners, scheduling the work to meet expectations.

  • Provides business/process insights for architecture of business, process, and systems through their subject matter expertise.

  • Maintains standardization, consistency, and continuous improvement of processes.

  • Assist with design of the governance activities associated with ensuring integrity of master data.

  • Responsible for producing quality and quantity metrics measuring performance.

  • Timely escalation of issues and resolution to Senior Management.

  • Key contributor to firm wide Enterprise Data Management project, in particular Security Master.

  • Analyze current business practices and procedures and define and implement processes and procedures to ensure data integrity.

  • Define and document policies and procedures, including the designing and documenting of process flows across multiple functions within Operations.

  • Identify and manage the resolution of data quality issues, recommending appropriate corrective action.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, B.S or B.A.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Financial Services / Asset Management Operations, especially around security data.

  • Expert knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income and Leveraged Loans.

  • Strong understanding of data management and data platforms.

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Thorough knowledge of master and reference data management concepts and methodologies and ability to apply this knowledge towards the building of enterprise data management solutions.

  • Acuity to understand fixed income analytics and their relationship to asset master setups.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a concise and objective manner to both technical and business audiences.

  • Prior personnel management experience a plus.

  • Project management experience and business analysis skills a plus.

  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles a plus.

  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Aladdin preferred, experience in platforms like Bloomberg and Charles River IMS a plus.

  • Effective time management skills; strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and function well independently in a dynamic, changing environment.
