Neuberger Berman Internal Auditor - EMEA in Dublin, Ireland

Position Overview

A Dublin-based position for an outstanding candidate with the ability to work independently, assess organisation-wide compliance with Neuberger Berman’s internal policies and procedures, laws and regulations, contractual terms and conditions, and efficiency of operations. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of internal audit procedures and sound judgement.

The successful candidate will audit the asset management activity of the Dublin, London and Luxembourg based AIFMs and their related branches.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform EMEA region-based audits covering equity, fixed income and private equity investment management, sales distribution and supervision, compliance, operational, risk and performance audits

  • Draft audit announcement memo, narratives, flow charts, risk assessments, control matrices and audit procedures

  • Document and assess internal controls, identify strengths and weaknesses of financial and operational controls, and recommend business efficiency opportunities

  • Evaluate the integrity of operational data and compliance with established policies and procedures through the audit process

  • Prepare and present audit reports with findings and recommendations to management

  • Follow up with management to ensure Management Action Plans have been implemented

Key Requirements / Qualifications (essential unless stated)

Education/Experience:

  • University education in Finance, Accounting, or Business

  • CPA, CFA, CIA preferred

  • 8 to 12 years external and/or internal audit experience, asset management experience required

  • Job title commensurate with experience

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Team player

  • High degree of initiative

  • Knowledge of investment management processes, operational risks, best practice standards, rules and regulations preferred

  • Knowledge of FCA, CBI and CSSF regulations

  • English speaking to C2+ level

  • Ability to multi-task amongst several projects through use of strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with management personnel

  • Proficiency at highlighting and documenting key issues and concerns

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of audit workpaper and flowcharting tools (e.g., TeamMate, Visio)
