Neuberger Berman Portfolio Analytics and Marketing Materials Management Trainee in London, United Kingdom

Role Overview:

We are seeking a finance, economics, mathematics or computer science graduate for a 12-month traineeship at Neuberger Berman.

The trainee will work with both the Collateral Management Team (CMT) and Client Reporting Team (CRT). The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join the client coverage group serving a range of key stakeholders with both data and marketing materials.

Working with CMT, the candidate will assist on the production of marketing materials and on the improvement of existing processes. The successful candidate will have exposure to all asset classes by participating in the issuance of factsheets for the UCITS/QIAIF platform, collaborate on select marketing materials, and partner with a range of teams globally. The trainee will develop an understanding of the firm's diverse product offerings and investment capabilities.

Working with CRT, the primary focus of the role will be to automate portfolio analytics for client reports, support the team with administrative projects and produce reporting, client questionnaires, data quality and collection, and ad-hoc requests.

The position will suit an enthusiastic person who prides themselves on their ability to multi-task, problem-solve and demonstrates a thorough attention to detail. The role would provide an excellent opportunity for a candidate to learn about the world of investment management and investment solutions as the teams interacts with all areas of the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the monthly factsheet production cycle with maintenance and delivery of factsheets to investment teams and internal/external distribution

  • Accountable for the timely update of multiple marketing materials including profiles and product briefs; also assist with commentaries and pitchbooks

  • Improve the quality and efficiency of existing data processes

  • Partner with Compliance for the approval of marketing materials for distribution

  • Automate reporting templates, and improve the efficiency of monthly deliverables for the client reporting team (Excel and PowerPoint templates)

  • Maintain and improve tracking mechanism for client reports and ad-hoc requests

  • Automate data aggregation & update team’s SharePoint site with historical analytics

  • Assist in vendor and IT related projects (Morningstar, Aladdin, Bloomberg, Investment Monthly Report and data warehouse)

  • Respond to RFP data and ad-hoc requests as required

Requirements (essential unless stated):

  • 2:1 or above University degree.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals

  • Excellent time-management, planning and organisational skills

  • Deadline-driven, collaborative, and able to multi-task

  • Solutions-oriented and proactive with the ability to improve processes

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential

  • An interest in using ChatGPT to improve and automate processes

  • Experience in a Marketing or Client Reporting role at an asset management firm preferred

  • Basic understanding of financial markets and interest in investment management

  • Morningstar Publishing System, Seismic and Workfront software knowledge preferred but not essential

  • An interest in developing Excel, VBA and Python knowledge

  • Curious and willing to learn about the industry
