Neuberger Berman Tax Manager in London, United Kingdom

A Tax Manager to contribute on a range of tax compliance and advisory matters, relating to our EMEA businesses, working with other members of the Group Tax function, and as well as colleagues in other functions.

Key areas of focus will include Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and VAT matters. However, it is expected that the role could also encompass other tax-related responsibilities, potentially including involvement in withholding tax, employment tax and Country-by-Country-Reporting regimes. This role would suit someone looking to broaden their tax knowledge, with a view to developing into a more senior regional role.

Group Tax is made up of a team of 10 tax professionals based between London and New York. They work closely with all areas of the business providing advice and assistance on tax-related matters. They also undertake or provide oversight for the Group's tax compliance obligations globally, manage relationships with tax authorities and assist with various forms of tax and financial reporting.

What you'll do

• Responsible for the completion of the EMEA Group's direct and indirect tax filings (VAT and Corporate Tax returns….)

• Oversight and management of external tax compliance providers

• Assist with the preparation of related Transfer Pricing documentation

• Working in partnership with the legal entity controllers to ensure the accurate recording of tax items in the financial statements

• Interaction with auditors on tax compliance items

  • Assist in tax planning and involvement in various special projects

  • Assist with responding to tax authority requests.

• Stay abreast of developments in market practice, legislation and regulation and work with colleagues across our business to understand and address the impact of tax changes

• Work with local management, other members of Group Tax and tax advisors to identify and, where appropriate, take advantage of potential tax efficiencies and ensure all tax risks are understood and managed effectively

• Assisting on other tax-related matters relating to our EMEA businesses

• Engage with colleagues across the EMEA region to understand their businesses and support their growth and development

Provide tax advice and support to enable informed planning and decision making

• Project based work to cover process and system enhancements, business developments and corporate development activities

The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need

• Strong Tax compliance and accounting experience to manage direct and indirect tax filings

  • Organizational skills are required to document all work and generate & maintain proper tax files

• Experience of transfer pricing

• Experience of working in financial services and/or international tax

• Experience of SAP accounting systems

• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. tax or accountancy).

• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Big 4 accounting firms or relevant asset management industry experience preferred.
