Neuberger Berman ASD Application Support Engineer in New York, New York


The Application Service Delivery team provides Level 1 & 2 support for Neuberger Berman applications. The individual will have a broad responsibility supporting business applications. Daily functions will include the monitoring of calls/e-mails and ticketing queues to provide analysis, prioritization, and resolution of production issues. Individual will work on resolving Service Requests, Incident, Change and Problem management tickets. Partner with various IT teams to provide application documentation, participate in maintenance testing, DR testing and release of changes into the production environment.

A working knowledge in the disciplines mentioned below are a pre-requisite, as well as excellent analytical reasoning and practical decision making, combined with an ability to communicate across a broad range of business functions and at all levels of the organization


  • The individual should possess a combination of intellectual, practical, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to understand and analyze technical and business problems, and to develop creative yet workable solutions in a timely manner

  • Develop relationships with other IT groups to ensure all issues are addressed in an clear and effective manner and that users are kept updated at all times

  • Candidate must be at ease meeting and working with a wide variety of people, including senior management, money managers, programmers, engineers & application vendors

  • Prepare and update Documentation of applications and related infrastructure

  • Provide off hours support as needed for support/maintenance and testing


  • Asset Management/Finance business experience (1-3 years)

  • BA/BS (Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or related field desirable, practical experience plus education and certifications may be considered)

  • Working knowledge of Java, SQL, .net and xml are a plus

  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills are necessary

  • Ability to formulate strategies and best practices for business applications

  • Ability to work independently on technically challenging projects to design, implement and manage various technologies

  • Hard working, self-motivated, demonstrate a high level of initiative, dedicated and committed to success

  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple initiatives at the same time

  • Understands and applies enterprise wide thinking to individual departmental requests to ensure end-to-end process and data integration are achieved.

  • Influences the prioritization of business unit technology projects to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed.

  • Provides quick project turnarounds and flexibility by leveraging knowledge and industry best practices.

  • Basic understanding of entitlement systems

  • ITIL certification a plus
