Neuberger Berman VP - Valuation Specialist in New York, New York

Neuberger Berman is looking for a VP - Valuation Specialist for the NB Alternatives platform. This role represents an opportunity to be a joining member in the build out of the centralized valuation team supporting the overall NB Alternatives platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with and support the Head of Valuation

  • Support the preparation of quarterly valuation models and portfolio analytics for various asset classes

  • Perform model validation on new valuation models

  • Coordinate with finance, IT, risk and other supporting teams about pricing, valuation, P&L and valuation models

  • Assist the head of valuation in managing the valuation process on market data inputs to the valuation models (yield curve, volatility surfaces, credit curves) and ensure the valuation process is in compliance with policy

  • Work closely with Technology team to implement valuation setup for new products and automate the current process

  • Perform price testing analysis with counterparty valuation and other third-party vendors’ prices such as Bloomberg

  • Maintain the valuation support as evidence that investment valuation is accurate

  • Manage and coordinate communications with third party valuation service providers and auditors throughout the valuation process

Qualifications:

  • Team oriented individual who can help train and develop others to expand capabilities and capacity of the valuation team

  • Strong project management, communication and presentation skills

  • Possess problem-solving, data analytical, and valuation skills

  • Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies and intermediate to advanced excel capabilities

  • Quantitative finance background with knowledge of financial products, specifically in private equity, real estate and lending spaces

  • CFA designation strongly preferred

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$225,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
